Load Disaggregation...?
The ADRENALIN project aims to facilitate a digital transformation of the existing building stock. Innovators from around the world have tackled two big challenges: load disaggregation and HVAC Smart Controls. These competitions invited participants to develop solutions that can make a real difference in how buildings consume and manage energy.
Our main focus has been on the HVAC Smart Controls challenge, where participants designed intelligent algorithms to make heating and cooling systems more efficient and responsive to external factors, such as fluctuating energy prices. We believe these innovations can help create more sustainable and cost-effective solutions for commercial buildings.

The winners — three teams from each challenge — have been announced, and the first portion of the prize money is on its way. Now, we're entering the next phase: knowledge transfer. This kicks off in early November with presentations from the winning teams, during which they'll share their solutions with us and the broader community.
Jon Åkerström, Chief Products and Business Development Officer at Kiona, shared his thoughts:
At Kiona, we prioritize continuous development to ensure our solutions evolve at the very front of technology. The ADRENALIN competitions have provided valuable ideas and insights for our product roadmap. By learning from the results of these innovations, we have an opportunity to further improve our offer to our partners and customers, driving smarter and more sustainable operations.
