Easy data import
Want to know more about data imports in Energinet?
Easy data import
Energinet provides various options for importing data to meet the diverse needs of its users. Whether you prefer a seamless integration with external systems, manual data entry, or importing data via files, our Energy Management System (EMS) offers the necessary tools to streamline your data management process.
Make informed decisions based on real-time data insights
With Energinet, you can easily integrate with external systems, import data through files, or manually enter meter readings. Its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features make it easy for you to make informed decisions based on data insights.
Data import by API
Receive meter data directly from REST APIs
Energinet provides a convenient way to import meter data through its REST API. This API can send meter data directly into the system. We also support many third-party software where we collect meter data from their APIs – including data from utility companies or other system suppliers. Additionally, we use API to transfer data from another Kiona product like IWMAC or Web Port.
Energinet is capable of handling meter data from various sources. We consolidate all the data into a single central location, providing a unified perspective and the same look and feel.
SFTP and email import
SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) and e-mail imports
Our system supports data importing through SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) and email-based imports. You can import data in various file types such as CSV, XML, TXT, and other text formats. We offer a range of pre-built import formats, and you can generate custom import formats that match your specific data structure using our format generator.
File import is widely used by BMS systems, SCADA systems, utility companies, and various on-site hardware, such as M-bus gateways from Elvaco.

Manual meters with mobile app
Energinet Go, our mobile app available for Android and iOS, enables you to handle manual meter readings effectively. The app utilizes QR codes to simplify data entry. Create QR codes within Energinet and then attach them to meters for convenient scanning. The app also provides an alarm list to manage alerts and access basic reports for quick insights.
Data reliability
Comprehensive approach to the reliability of meter data
Data reliability is the foundation of informed decisions and Energinet employs a comprehensive approach to the reliability of meter data. Functions such as automatic alarms for incorrect incremental data values, meter change detection, and counter reset handling is taken into account.
Detect and handle gaps in data
Our system detects and signals errors related to meter data frequency and missing data. Meters receiving incremental raw data can be configured to ignore zero values, eliminating the need to filter them out manually – allowing the user to customize the handling of gaps in data, ensuring that the data is complete.
Implement custom logic expressions
Exclude or handle other extreme values and get control over your data quality. Energinet can generate alarms for exceeding minimum and maximum values and missing data. The alerts are sent to designated recipients, displayed on the alarm pages of the system, in the Energinet GO app, and sent via e-mail.
