Tell us about your current role at Kiona and how you got there.
I currently work as a Senior Accountant and have been with Kiona for just over a year, having started in July 2024.
I completed my master’s degree in 2018 in Trondheim. After graduating, I spent six years working as an accountant for a small housing development firm before joining Kiona.
What do you do in your everyday work?
I work with both routine tasks and with continuous improvements. I enjoy streamlining routines and calculations, and I'm always looking for ways to work smarter and more efficiently. My work involves evaluations, quality checks, and reporting to our parent company. The goal is to strengthen the decision-making foundation by making sure our numbers are correct and well-documented.
What do you like the most about working at Kiona?
What I appreciate most about working at Kiona is the combination of great colleagues, professional challenges, and the trust and freedom I've been given in my role. I enjoy having responsibilities and the opportunity to grow through them. The best part about Kiona is definitely my helpful and funny colleagues.
What's one thing about your work that you think people might find surprising?
It's not boring! My work is more varied than many might believe. There’s rarely a clear-cut answer to any issue, and much depends on evaluations and professional judgments within the team. You do need to like Excel to enjoy my work, though.
If you were to choose one Kiona value that resonated the best with you (Trust, Curiosity or Creativity) – which one would it be and why?
For me, it's trust. Trust in each other is what enables good collaboration, allows for space to grow, and builds healthy relationships. When we feel trusted, we take ownership, share ideas, and work better together.
